The Spring Shakedown 2.0 @ Lime Rock Park

Event Description:

Ready to kick off the 2024 racing season? Want to knock off the rust after a long winter, or start shaking down a new setup? Well, The Spring Shakedown 2.0 is just what you're looking for. Utilizing the incredible FCP Euro Proving grounds, our timed point to point autocross is perfect for both novices and experts alike. All years, makes, models, and levels of modification are welcome! We will be running three classes (two competition classes and an exhibition class for cars on slicks) on a fast and fun course layout that includes elevation changes, a mix of corner profiles, and other elements you typically don’t see at an autocross. We will have unique trophies and prizes available, which includes a $100 G.P.E. gift card for each of the class winners!

Do you have what it takes to conquer Gorman Performance Engineering? We are incredibly excited to announce the G.P.E. bounty. At each of our autocrosses we will have a “Bounty car”, and everyone who beats the fastest time set by this bounty car will receive a $50 gift card to G.P.E. that can be used for our services or towards parts from the thousands of brands that we sell. COMPETITORS MUST BE ON THE SAME (OR HIGHER) TREADWEAR TIRES AS THE BOUNTY CAR TO BE ELIGIBLE. THE BOUNTY SHALL BE AWARDED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE EVENT ORGANIZERS.

Compete for the season championship: We will be having a “season championship” across the three events we are hosting in 2024. At each event, entrants in the two competition classes (American Muscle and Non-American Muscle) will accumulate points based on their finishing position (which is determined by their fastest lap), and those with the highest point total in each of the two classes after the final event will be crowned the season champions. Class champions will each receive a $300 gift card to Gorman Performance Engineering. YOU MUST COMPETE IN A MINIMUM OF TWO EVENTS IN ORDER TO BE ELEGIBLE FOR THE SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP.

Classing

Cars will be divided into two different classes; the American Muscle and the Non-American Muscle class. All entries will be allowed at the discretion of the organizers. TIRES MUST BE 100TW OR HIGHER. CARS ON SLICKS MAY RUN IN THE EXHIBITION CLASS BUT WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR AWARDS OR PRIZES.

General Event Information

All Sales are final. If you are unable to attend, contact us and we will see if we can sell your spot to someone on the wait list.

The event will be run rain or shine. Should there be rain the day of an event, no refunds will be issued. If an entrant does not wish to attend in the rain, they may use their entry as a voucher to cover 50% of the entry cost to another event hosted by Gorman Performance Engineering.

Entrants are welcome to pack their own food for the event. No grilles are allowed.

Any competitor or crew found driving in the pits or on the street in an unsafe manner will be ejected, and forfeit any fees paid.

All Vehicles must be in compliance with the Lime Rock Park sound limit. Vehicles that are judged to be too loud will receive one warning to correct the problem before they will not be allowed to run.

Drivers exhibiting unsafe driving skills on or off the property will be banned from events.

Registration closes promptly at 8:30 a.m. Any entry after that time will not be accepted.

Any car (street legal or race) may compete. SUV’s can compete.

Car number must be clearly marked on the car. Car numbers should be 8 inches high.

Minimum age to compete is 16 years old. Anyone 16 or 17 years old must be accompanied by a parent and have a waiver signed by said parent prior to competing (Contact us for the minor waiver). All drivers must have a valid driver’s license. (We do check!)

Helmets are required. Every helmet must have a Snell M or SA rating and proof of being manufactured within the last 10 years. Helmets must be in good condition (no cracks). We will have a limited number of loaner helmets available at the event.

Apparel – We suggest long sleeve shirts and long pants be worn when driving in this event. The material should be 100% cotton. Close toed shoes are required for all participants, no sandals, please.

All cars must be in good mechanical condition. This includes (but is not limited to) brakes, mechanically secured battery (no elastic cord), no leaks, properly installed seats & seat belts, and no loose items inside the car.

Only drivers and “crew” allowed. Please remove all your trash when you depart.
